Music Centre restaurant

Salakapakka is the Finnish word for ‘speakeasy’, so be prepared for spiked tea and decadent music! And watch out in case the place is raided! Sibafest plunges into the dark world of Prohibition, as the Music Centre restaurant transforms into a 1919 speakeasy complete with music of the day. The music is managed by Olli Soikkeli (b. 1991), already one of the world’s most distinguished gypsy jazz guitarists despite his young age. He appears with Grammy award winning pianist Marian Petrescu and bass player Teemu Åkerblom.

Soikkeli now lives in New York, and he has performed alongside international stars of his genre at jazz clubs and festivals around Europe and the USA. Last year, the Huffington Post and All About Jazz nominated the Travels album by Soikkeli’s Rhythm Future Quartet as one of the best jazz albums of the year.

Olli Soikkeli, guitar

Marian Petrescu, piano

Teemu Åkerblom, bass

The restaurant is decorated in a 20’s fashion. Although not obligatory, we encourage you to dress up as well!
