Sonore, Music Centre

New music inspired by the works of Jean Sibelius (1865–1957) and by experiences of openness and communality. Hommage à Sibelius features world premieres of pieces by young Finnish composers for ensembles for which Sibelius never wrote or which were not typical for his time. Each composer has a unique approach, but their works are linked by how they relate to the music of Sibelius. Works by Heidi Hassinen, Ilkka Aunu, Jaime Belmonte, Tuomas Kettunen, Rolf Gustavson, Perttu Pölönen, Touko Niemi and Saara Lindahl.
